General

The Peavey Vyper VIP 2 is an inconceivably complete 40-Watt, 1x12-inch modelling guitar amplifier for home, stage or practice session use. Flexible as it is, this affordable and great-sounding amp doesn't just take your electric guitar, you're also free to plug in a bass or acoustic model. After plugging either one in, all you have to do is select the right instrument and the amplifier will take care of the settings.

Teeming with Sounds

Teeming with guitar sounds, this Peavey amp gives you the complete VIP treatment by offering up 36 amp models - some of which are highly convincing tube amps - plus another six bass guitar amps and six acoustic guitar amps. Besides amp simulations, you're even getting 26 directly accessible stompbox effects and 10 instrument simulations, including a 7-string and 12-string guitar, a resonator guitar, a violin and a bass guitar.

Practical Connections & Controls

The handy controls on the front panel of the VIP 2 make it a remarkably accessible amplifier that doesn't necessarily need to be hooked up to a computer, but can be. Thanks to a USB port, the amp can double as an audio interface and used to record to a laptop. Meanwhile, an AUX input and headphone jack complete the practical I/O section of this great-sounding and greatly compelling modelling amplifier.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.
