General

The Peavey Bandit 112 is a complete guitar amplifier combo from the brand's famed TransTube Series. The transistor amps in the series produce a sound that closely resembles that of a tube amp and in this case that means 80 Watts of raw, pure and dynamic tone reproduced via a 12-inch Blue Marvel speaker. The Bandit 112 is suited for home, practice and stage use and is packed with a vast amount of controls and connectors.

The Sounds of the Bandit 112

The Bandit 112 is equipped with two channels that, just like the boost function, can be switched on and off using an optional footswitch. Both channels have individual 3-band EQ and volume control, while the lead (overdrive) channel also has distortion (pre-gain). In addition, the number of available sounds is greatly expanded thanks to two 3-way switches used to select the preferred type of amplifier, meaning that you can effortlessly go from lazy blues to heavy metal.

Connection Options

The Bandit comes with two inputs, so if your guitar has a high output, you'll want to use the low-gain input while the high-gain input can be used in all other cases. Next to an external speaker output, there's also an effects loop connection on board, and you can use the direct output with level control to hook the Bandit up to a mixing desk to make sure that the speaker simulation maintains the characteristic sound of the amp.

Wrote the following about Peavey Bandit 112 1x12-inch 80W 1x12" 80W Guitar Amplifier Combo
Fijne gitaarversterker.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
