General

The 'Boogies' from California are renowned for their characteristically feisty sound. The Mesa Boogie Road King II from the Rectifier series has that too, and more! From bright, clean, creamy blues to modern high gain, the possibilities are almost limitless. Four individually adjustable channels are at your disposal, each with three different styles per channel when choosing between 6L6 or EL34 tubes. The result is a stunningly versatile combo that shows off Mesa Boogie's vast experience and craftmanship.

Mesa Boogie Road King II 2x12: versatile

The Mesa Boogie Road King 2x12 is fitted with two Celestion Custom 90 speakers that deliver 50, 100 or 120 watts of output as required. Controls on the front panel allow you to set the combo's sound to Clean, Fat, British or Tweed on channels 1 and 2, while channels 3 and 4 add Raw, Vintage High Gain or Modern High Gain sound characteristics. Each channel has its own volume control, while there is also a separate master volume. With the Solo knob, you can set a volume boost that can be adjusted per channel.

Guitar amplifier combo with extensive functions

On the rear panel, you can choose the tube type, the amount of reverb you want per channel, and the inverter type to manipulate the attack. You'll also find connections for two loop effects and an external speaker here. The silicon diodes make super-fast metal riffs more direct, while the choice of Rectifier tubes give blues tones a singing sustain. The included 9-button footswitch makes for 'hands-free' operation and allows you to switch between sounds per channel, activate one or both loops, and turn reverb and solo-boost on and off, making even the cleanest solos blast out of the speakers.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.
