General

This Marshall amp is so small, you can easily bring it on a literal musical journey. Even though its size makes you suspect otherwise, this wee practice amp is equipped with a hefty modelling section. There's a clean as well as a crunch channel and no fewer than two overdrives. Additionally, you can adjust the bass and treble frequencies separately and adjust the gain settings. The MG2CFX is a state-of-the-art bit of kit and resembles great value for money.

Extra extras

If you thought that the tone-adjustments were the end of its magic, then this little Marshall has some surprising tricks up its sleeves! A single button houses a chorus, phaser and flanger effect that you can subsequently adjust the intensity of. Moreover, the MG2CFX features a reverb and a delay effect that can also be separately altered. The tap button makes it easy to adjust the length of the sinus or you can hold it down to engage the built-in tuner.

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. Mesa has continued their glorious tradition by using four EL-84 power tubes in the amplifier, contrary to the earlier Mark Five Twenty-Five, that had to manage with 'only' two.
