General

For those who want to be heard loud and clear, Line 6 present the latest generation Spider V 240 MKII. Next to 240 Watts of sheer volume, this 2x12" guitar combo amp packs a wealth of sounds and features an integrated tuner. Both the volume and the full-range sound can be credited to the new, more organic speakers and make the amp highly suitable for acoustic guitars and external backing tracks. It's home to over 200 amps, effects and cabs, as well as 128 practical presets that can be adjusted to taste via the free Spider V Remote app. Just don't forget to tune your instrument using the integrated tuner prior to playing.

The Spider V 240 MKII: Ultimate Freedom And Control During Your Live Set

For effortless switching during and in between songs, this Line 6 amp can be combined with an FBV 3 footswitch (sold separately). If things tend to get a little wild on stage and you'd rather not trip over a patch cable, you can also optionally pair the built-in receiver with a Relay G10T transmitter for wire-free playing. The two XLR outputs on the Spider V 240 can come in handy here too; simply hook them up to a stage box and you'll have two microphone stands less to worry about. If you're more of a solo artist with a set list full of tearjerkers, you can use the 60-second looper or the pre-programmed drum loops and metronome for inspiration or to tighten up your sound.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

The VOX VTX Series - Evolution Accelerated

Wednesday 4 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. This series of amps combined digital modelling technology with convincing tube sounds. Since then, models have slowly but steadily improved along with digital technology. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Renowned instrument colossus Roland first introduced their Blues Cube amplifiers back in the 1990's. The idea was simply to program a transistor amp to sound like a tube amp.
