General

The Koch ClassicTone SE6 combo has been designed from the ground up to retain the purity of valve-coated sound, wiped clean of any unnecessary frills. The minimalistic Dutch design guarantees the optimised dynamics of an 'all-tube' setup that responds effortlessly to every detail and nuance of any playing style. With just one valve in the power amp section - hence 'SE6', or 'Single Ended' - this amplifier spits unique tone and, thanks to the built-in recording/PA output complete with speaker simulation, has been kitted out for gigging and recording life.

The Koch ClassicTone SE6: Discover Your Sound

The tone section of the SE6 has been expanded with extra voicing switches, where the Mid Boost enhances clarity and articulation and the Bass Cut tightens up the low-end, even under heavy distortion. Engage the Gain Boost to coat the sound in more saturation and deliver more power and, using the handy Low Power function, this amplifier can even bring overdrive at lower volume levels - shifting the output down from 6 Watts to 2 Watts. Thinking of everything, this neat retro-styled model even features a special input for an external preamp.

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. Mesa Boogie now introduces, alongside the Mark Five Twenty-Five, the Mark Five Thirty-Five! Mesa has continued their glorious tradition by using four EL-84 power tubes in the amplifier, contrary to the earlier Mark Five Twenty-Five, that had to manage with 'only' two. This amp, preceded by the Nomad, Mini Rectifier Twenty-Five and the Caliber, has been released onto Mesa's mini platform in a combo as well as a head version.
