General

Fender's most popular guitar amplifier is now better than ever before. The Hot Rod Deluxe III has been upgraded in various ways in regard to its predecessors. The chrome control panel has been replaced by a black one that is more easily legible and the texts have been turned so you can now read them while standing in front of the amp. Also, the volume and treble potentiometers have been graduated for a more accurate adjustment. Fender have tightened up the overdrive and equipped this combo with a 12-inch Celestion G12P-80 speaker. The Hot Rod Deluxe III is delivered with a new, streamlined foot switch and protective cover.

The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III's versatile sounds

The Hot Rod Deluxe III is a 40-watt tube guitar amplifier combo with three switchable channels. The first channel is a Normal (clean) channel, equipped with a volume control and a normal/bright knob for extra clarity, and the second channel is the Drive channel, equipped with a control knob for the amount of gain that goes from crunch to screaming overdrive. You can use the master combined with the Drive as volume control. The More Drive knob accesses channel 3 that provides a thorough gain boost that is perfect for solos. The channels share a 3-band equalizer and presence control that let you add an extra sparkle to your sound.

Built-in reverb, effects loop and more

When you've found the perfect sound you can enrich it with a dash of genuine spring reverb. The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III pairs excellently with additional effect pedals and has an effects loop via the preamp out (FX-send) and power amp in (FX-return) specifically for this purpose. The foot switch input is meant for the included 2-knob foot switch that lets you switch between the three channels. Lastly, it has an external speaker output so you can connect an optional 4 or 8-ohm speaker cabinet.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

The VOX VTX Series - Evolution Accelerated

Wednesday 4 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
