ENGL E314 MetalMaster 40W tube combo guitar amp
Product no: 9000-0025-0270 Bax Music Warranty: This product comes with a 3-year warranty.

General

After the success of the MetalMaster 20, ENGL got a lot of requests for a similar amp with even more power; their response was the E314 MetalMaster 40. This is one devilish amp, with no less than 40 watts of power, a 12-inch Celestion Super 65 speaker, four EL84 power amps and two ECC83 preamp tubes. It also has a built-in Power Soak Speaker Emulated Out function that makes the EL314 just as suitable for the stage as it is for use at home or in the studio. Of course, it has plenty of extra connectors for even more ease of use.

Wicked power and sparkling cleans

The EL314 is equipped with two channels, each with their own tone control, and a master volume control lets you adjust the overall sound without affecting the balance between the channels. The clean channel delivers the kind of sparkling British cleans you'd expect from an EL84 amp, and if you crank up the gain on the channel you'll get a nice crunch. The gain channel picks it up from there, starting out with heavy overdrive and maxing out with some wicked high gain. Thanks to the extensive tone control, you can easily get that modern scooped-mid metal sound.

Versatile and complete

A 12-inch Celestion Super 65 speaker is responsible for delivering the sound, and it's the perfect match for the thunderous sound of the MetalMaster. If you'd like to add some extra ambience to the mix, you can make use of the built-in digital reverb. With the previously-mentioned Power Soak function in the mix, it's safe to say that the MetalMaster 40 is a particularly versatile combo. You can connect your effects via the FX loop, and if you want, you can connect the optional ENGL foot switch so you can control the reverb and switch channels while you play. Finally, if you want even more sound, you can always connect an extra speaker cabinet to this powerful yet compact amp combo.

ENGL Doubles the Power of the Master Series

Tuesday 8 March 2016 By Julie Alexander

The first ENGL MetalMaster and RockMaster 20 amplifiers enjoyed great popularity, thought they didn't quite quench guitarists' thirst for even more power. Once the ENGL technician's caught wind of the requests, they were only too happy to comply, and have recently released their response in the form of the 40W MetalMaster and RockMaster. You can get either model as an amp head or a combo.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
