General

With the MKII, Boss has retained all the characteristics and feel of the original Katana 50 but with added updates, offering more control and more amp sounds and effects for those seeking even sharper Japanese steel. With the variation button you can add a further five classic tube amp emulations to the five MKI sounds already included. This Katana MKII offers 65 effects to push your sonic depth and the sound quality of each has been improved even further and expanded to include octavers, pitch shifting and a variety of delays. With the dual effects buttons, you can control any effect and each can be swiftly toggled on and off via the amplifier itself.

The Katana 50 MKII: Sharpened Tone Editor & Power Amp In

For those who are on a higher mission, chasing elusive, never-heard-before-tones, the free Boss Tone Editor has been updated and fully adapted to meet the demands of the richer sound palette of the Katana MKII models. If you've honed any presets from the original series, these can be loaded up with the new line and fine tuned even further. Use the Power Amp Input to jack your pedalboard or high-quality multi-effects into the Katana 50 and custom 12 inch speaker, and use them as a preamp and get a direct path through the class A / B power amp.

Alert & Inspired Sound

This alert little 50 Watt Katana amplifier can tackle any situation. Play clean, crunch, lead, brown or even acoustic and get full sound and agile dynamics to make inspired guitar moves in every scenario. The ease of setting up your favourite sounds has also been maintained. Save up to 8 Tone presets and flip through them swiftly. Shape and discipline your sound with cabinet emulations and tweak it further with three Air Feel settings. Layer the result with the many built-in effects and use the sly USB port to output to your PC or Mac and record your newly mastered moves directly to your DAW.

Zeer tevreden.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

The VOX VTX Series - Evolution Accelerated

Wednesday 4 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. This series of amps combined digital modelling technology with convincing tube sounds. Since then, models have slowly but steadily improved along with digital technology. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.

NAMM 2016: Hot Additions to Blues Cube Series by Roland

Wednesday 20 January 2016 By Lizanne

Renowned instrument colossus Roland first introduced their Blues Cube amplifiers back in the 1990's. The idea was simply to program a transistor amp to sound like a tube amp.
