General

Tube amplifiers are known for their delightfully warm tone and dynamic distortion, the more volume, the better they sound. However, they can easily become too loud for home use, which is why Blackstar developed the HT-5R, a very complete full-tube guitar amplifier combo with a power of only 5 watts. Now you are free to open up the volume on your amplifier without worrying about the neighbours or ending up with a permanent hearing impairment. This small Blackstar HT-5R delivers a grand performance!

HT-5R: two-channel tube amplifier with ISF and reverb

The HT-5R is driven by an ECC83 and a 12BH7 valve, and is equipped with a specially designed 12-inch Blackbird 50 speaker. This guitar amplifier has two switchable channels that allow you to go from crystal-clear cleans to high-gain overdrive. The HT-5R features an expansive tone-control section that comprises a 3-band EQ and a special ISF knob. This patented Infinite Shape Feature allows you to adjust the timbre of the amp from a distinctively American tube sound (6L6) to a quintessentially British one (EL34) - from tight bass and scooped mids to a looser bass and rich mids. Moreover, the HT-5R features a built-in digital stereo reverb effect, which is great for a subtle reverb to spacious surf sounds!

The HT-5R's ins and outs

On the back of the HT-5R are several inputs and outputs. There's an MP3/line input to connect a CD player or iPod for instance, to jam along to your favourite music. Would you like to practise late at night? Then connect your headphones to the headphone/line output. You can also use this output to connect the amplifier to a mixer or recording device. It also features speaker emulation, which is switchable from a tight 1x12 to a fat 4x12. Moreover, the HT-5R features an effects loop for your effect pedals or processors and several speaker outputs that allow you to connect an optional speaker cabinet. Last but not least there's an input for the included FS-4 foot switch, to remotely change between the clean and the overdrive channel.

Blackstar HT 5R 1x 12-inch 5W valve guitar amplifier combo
Wrote the following about Blackstar HT 5R 1x 12-inch 5W valve guitar amplifier combo

Is gitaristvriendelijk.

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
