General

To celebrate their ten-year anniversary, Blackstar offers the Artisan 10 AE tube amp combo with 10 watts of power and a 6L6 in the power amp. It also features a built-in HT-Drive for ultimate shredding as well as crystal-clear cleans, which means it's ideal for use with effects pedals. This amp basically has one channel, but fortunately is equipped with a built-in overdrive modelled after Blackstar's own HT-Drive. There's also a reverb available for that little bit extra in your sound.

Artist 10 AE: complete combo

Normally, compact tube amps like this one are limited in terms of functionality and connection options, but Blackstar have provided the Artist 10 AE with plenty of both. It comes with a 1-button footswitch to turn the built-in overdrive on and off, and if you want to control the reverb with your foot as well, simply hook up a 2-button footswitch (not included) and you're good to go. Furthermore, you've got an emulated line-out, an effects loop and a number of speaker connection options at your disposal. The Blackstar Artist 10 AE is a fully-fledged tube amp combo that's great value for money!

Blackstar Artist 10 AE tube guitar amplifier combo
Wrote the following about Blackstar Artist 10 AE tube guitar amplifier combo

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday 2 November 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.
