General
The Cedro 635 is an affordable classic guitar by Perez. All of Perez's nylon-string guitars are made by highly skilled artisans in Spain who follow centuries of tradition and use high-quality materials. The Perez 635 is a good example of that tradition, as it plays smoothly, looks sleek and sounds exactly how a Spanish guitar should sound. A solid Red Cedar top graces the Cedro guitar, and in combination with the beautifully grained bubinga wood that makes up the sides and back, you can count on a warm, deep sound.
Perez 635 Cedro: solid-top construction
The top might be the most important factor in determining the sound of a guitar, as it is the part that transports the vibrations from the strings to the body. Most guitars from this series feature laminated tops, which are strong but quite rigid, especially compared to the much more flexible solid top featured on the Perez 635 Cedro. The solid top also helps the body to resonate better and to produce more volume as well as better projection. Furthermore, you'll find that the guitar has a nice bit of sustain, so your notes and chords really ring through.
Neat, stylish finish
The finish of the Perez 635 Cedro simply radiates artisanship. This guitar is finished just as nicely as its older brothers, and as such has a tasteful no-frills look with subtle decorations such as rosewood bindings and a colourful wooden rosette. A thin layer of high-gloss lacquer completes the look. You can also get this guitar as the Abeto, if you'd like a solid spruce top for more sparkle and clarity.
