LaPaz' CST400N is a classical guitar with a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back sides, built to put a great-sounding model within affordable reach of players looking for superior specifications. That means that next to the solid top, the construction includes a set-in mahogany neck and a techwood fretboard and bridge to round off the intense and warm-hearted sound of this Spanish guitar.
The LaPaz CST400N: Fully Flexible and Accommodating
Whether you want to play classical music, Spanish flamenco or pop and whether you want to use your fingers or a plectrum, this classical guitar delivers. Its nylon-string sound is lush with a light bite and covers a wide dynamic range with rich harmonious overtones. First thoughts after an hour is that the tone and sustain could easily be coming from a guitar that cost 4 time's the price. Fret end's are good but not great, totally playable as is but on my to do list to soften the edges a bit. Fretboard could also use a polish but easily done and really not an issue at this price point.
Very good value student guitar offering way more than anything else I've seen at even twice the price.
