A more-than affordable introduction to the classical guitar, the LaPaz 002 sets up any beginner with warm sound and the comfortable playing feel of lower tension, nylon strings. Nylon strings are softer than steel strings, so less pressure is needed when holding down notes and chords. And, since this guitar has been built using basswood, you're assured of a balanced acoustic sound and plenty of definition whether finger-picking or strumming. This 3/4 sized model is the perfect learning partner for children aged 12 and up as well as fully-grown adults, and here, comes complete with a stand and tuner.

Gitaar
Voorop wil ik stellen dat ik de veelgebruikte aanduiding voor deze LaPaz als "beginnersgitaar" onterecht vind. Inderdaad kan je, als je nog niet weet of gitaar wat voor je is, voor weinig geld eens proberen. Echter, ik speel sinds mijn 14e gitaar, ben inmiddels 51, en beschouw mezelf niet meer als beginner.
Hoe je een instrument, in mijn beleving, kiest is als volgt:
1. Je gaat naar de winkel
2. Je pakt, of vraagt naar, het instrument dat er aantrekkelijk uitziet
3. Je bespeelt het, of laat het bespelen, en luistert of je het mooi en plezierig vindt klinken
4. Je checkt de prijs
5. Je weegt looks (2), klank (3) en prijs (4) tegen elkaar af
Als dat allemaal in overeenstemming is, dan koop je het instrument. Zo simpel is het. En zo gebeurde het met dit instrument ook! Het is een mooi, goed klinkende gitaar voor niet al te veel geld.
Bij mij is het wel zo dat de meegeleverde snaren erg goedkoop aanvoelen en snel een ijzerluchtje op mijn vingers achterlaten. In de loop der jaren heb op veel verschillende snaren gespeeld en gemerkt dat er een groot verschil in geluid (en kwaliteit) zit. Het zal dus niet lang duren voordat ik de meegeleverde ijzerdraadjes vervang door goede snaren.
Standaard
De meegeleverde standaard is stevig, makkelijk in te klappen en niet al te zwaar.
Clip-on tuner
De tuner werkt prima. Je moet 'm even op de "G" stand (voor gitaar) zetten en hij vertelt welke snaar je bespeelt en of deze "in tune" is. In dat geval wordt het display groen.
