General
The Alhambra 2C is a high-grade classical guitar that was made in Spain. Thanks to improved bracing - there are five singing bars attached to the top - it has a stronger construction than the 1C model. Singing bars are attached along the length of the top of a string instrument's body. The structure of the various singing bars of the 2C enhances the instrument's dynamics and warmth - a benefit that's particularly noticeable in the first five positions. Alhambra is renowned for its nylon-string guitars; once you pick up the 2C, you'll instantly understand why.
Alhambra 2C: a comfortable classical guitar
The Alhambra 2C is equipped with a wide, 2.05" string nut that allows for plenty of spacing between the individual strings. That's a real advantage for a classical guitar, as it makes it easier to play complicated chords without pushing down on the wrong strings. For optimal string tension, the guitar has a 25.59" scale length, so you won't feel as if you're playing elastic bands. The 2C's warm and clear tone comes courtesy of a solid cedar top, and a back and sides made of laminated mahogany.
The Alhambra brand
The modern factory where Alhambra guitars first see the light of day is located in Muro de Alcoy, a picturesque Spanish town not far from Valencia. Since the early 1960s, customer feedback has been an important source of inspiration for the Alhambra guitar builders, who use it to enhance their instruments. Additionally, they exchange knowledge and experience with a number of master builders from Madrid. Alhambra honours the traditional Spanish way of building guitars, but also uses the latest woodworking equipment. No wonder the company is regarded as one of the top manufacturers of nylon-string guitars, both in Spain and in the rest of the world.
