General

Since its introduction the Yamaha NTX700 has been incredibly popular with many leading live artists. This is due to the special combination of western guitar looks with a classical guitar sound. Along with that, it is of course a high-quality instrument that plays fantastically. In 2013 Yamaha brought out a new colour for this guitar, and now in addition to natural, the NTX700 is also available in this beautiful Sand Burst version. The neck of this electro-acoustic "classical" guitar is attached to the sound cabinet at the 14th fret. This, in combination with the large cutaway, makes it easy to play all the way up to the 22nd fret.

Yamaha TRX-700: ARE wood-improvement

The NTX700 is a solid-top guitar. The solid spruce top combined with sides and back of nato (a type of eastern mahogany) combine to deliver a surprisingly deep sound with rich mids and sweet trebles. Characteristic of the NTX series is the application of Yamaha's ARE wood-improvement technology. This means the wood has gone through a process to give it a sharp, adult sound as if it had already been played for years. To clearly amplify its beautiful sound, the Yamaha NTX700 is equipped with a System61 preamp and Yamaha's innovative ART pickups.

High-quality electronics

The electronic portion of the Yamaha NTX700 is comprised of two ART contact piëzo pickups and a comprehensive preamp. These pickups are, unlike a traditional piëzo, attached directly to the top, inside the sound cabinet under the bridge. This keeps the amplified sound closer to that of the original sound of the acoustic guitar. Additionally, it ensures less distortion when the strings are struck hard. The System61 preamplifier is equipped with a Master volume, 3-band EQ and two different volume controls for the bass and treble frequencies respectively. A digital chromatic tuner is also built in with clear LED lighting.
