The mouthpiece is a crucial part of any wind instrument - not only does it dictate how hard you have to blow but it influences the overall timbre of the instrument. With the MP BCL 5C Yamaha offers you a mouthpiece for bass clarinet with excellent playing characteristics. This model sounds rich and full with good tonal variety.

Standard Series

Yamaha has an expansive collection of mouthpieces in their Standard series. These mouthpieces are fashioned from phenol, a type of high-quality synthetic material. Yamaha borrowed the designs from their Custom series so you can be sure of getting a mouthpiece with consistency and control. The mouthpieces from the Standard series are comparatively easier to play than those of the Custom series, which is an especially advantageous characteristic for beginners. Most Standard mouthpieces are available in a variety of sizes.
