Hohner definitely picked an accurate slogan for the Chrometta line in 'make it look easy'. The Chrometta 14 was designed to allow beginners to play their first songs in no time. Thanks to the extra wide channel openings, it's much easier to play individual notes. Hohner knows better than anyone how to get people excited for instruments like this. Its clever design reveals they thought of everything. The ergonomic mouthpiece directs the air directly to the reeds, and allows the harmonica to slide easily along your lips.
Hohner Chrometta 14
The Chrometta owes its name, of course, to the fact that it's a chromatic harmonica with 14 holes. Contrary to a diatonic harmonica, a chromatic harmonica has a slide that changes the notes on the harmonica. In theory, the harmonica is tuned in C, but as it has an impressive range of 3.5 octaves (56 notes), that loses its relevance, as virtually any note you'd need is available to you. As such, you'll be hard pressed to find a song you can't play along to. All in all, the harmonica is a great instrument that is played by many great musicians, such as Stevie Wonder, for instance.
Hohner quality
Hohner is the biggest harmonica manufacturer there is, and has been for about a century and a half. Yes, the German harmonica mogul has done well for itself over the past fifteen decades. All that accumulated knowledge and experience is now combined in the Chrometta 14. Only the best materials were used in creating this instrument. The covers are made of stainless steel, and the reeds are made of brass. as well as an ABS plastic comb, which does not swell up, extending its lifespan considerably compared to a wooden comb. Finally, this chromatic harmonica features a zigzag slide construction.

Voor de rest, geweldig.
Geen echte minpunten: de schuif is niet echt geschikt voor zeer snel spel, maar doet goed zijn werk. Het mondstuk voelt wat dikker aan dat gemiddeld, maar glijdt zeer goed onder de lippen. De Chrometta is vooral bedoeld voor beginners (begrijp ik), maar ook mensen zoals ik met een langere staat van dienst kunnen er veel plezier aan beleven. Recht uit de doos bespeelbaar, zonder ook maar 1 haperende toon, dat is zelfs voor veel duurdere mondharmonica's niet zo vanzelfsprekend. Zonder meer een aanrader!
