The Audio Technica AT-XP7 cartridge is designed especially for DJs. Its tracking force is 2 to 4 grams and it boasts an output capacity of 6 mW. The elliptical stylus has a different colour so you can see it easily in dark or dimly-lit environments. If you're after a cartridge with excellent HiFi audio then the AT-XP7 fits the bill. It's compatible with tonearms that have a plug and socket headshell.

Dankzij de stevige naaldhouder wiebelt de cartridge niet tijdens het beatmatchen en is de kans vrijwel nul dat hij slap wordt en de cartridge op de plaat gaat hangen. Verder voelt de cartridge solide aan en kan volgens mij best tegen een stootje. Door het design van de cartridge is naar mijn mening heel goed te zien waar je de naald neerzet op de plaat.
Een nadeel: De verpakking. Je moet de stylus uit de cartridge halen en los schroeven uit een soort van plastic headshell. Ziet er misschien mooi uit maar ongelooflijk onhandig. Maar dit heeft verder geen invloed op de kwaliteit van de AT-XP7.
Oja, en de prijs is aan de hoge kant.
