The Rode VideoMic Pro Rycote is the improved version of the very successful VideoMic Pro. Since its introduction in 2011, this powerful directional microphone has become one of the most popular camera microphones on the market. Many professionals and amateurs who have a video camera or a single-lens reflex camera, use the VideoMic Pro. Its name already gives away that this updated model comes with a new mounting system: a Rycote Lyre shock mount. This shock mount is one of the best shock mounts available. They've also improved the capsule, which is now extra sensitive and produces much less low-end noise.
VideoMic Pro Rycote Lyre: more professional than ever
Thanks to the Rycote Lyre shock mount, vibrations don't get a chance of reaching the camera microphone. This results in exceptionally clean and therefore very professional recordings. Another advantage of the Lyre is that it's incredibly durable, thanks to its high-quality construction. This, together with the improved capsule, makes the VideoMic Pro an incredibly reliable mic that's capable of recording more dynamics. Slide on your camera's shoe and connect it to the 3.5mm jack input. It's also possible to mount it on a boom pole with a 3/8-inch thread.

Minpunt is dat je een batterij er in moet doen, maar die gaat superlang mee. ook zijn er geen mogelijkheden om via XLR aan te sluiten.
Vergeet niet om in je camera de audio-instellingen ook bij te stellen zodat je optimaal gebruik kunt maken van de -10db, 0db en 20db instellingen van de microfoon!
Ik had eerst de Rode VideoMic Rycote, maar nu dus vervangen voor de Pro-versie, omdat ik mij ontzettend stoorde aan de 'hiss' dat veroorzaakt werd door de combinatie camera + mic. Bij de Pro is het daarom een mega-voordeel dat er een knop met +20db op zit: zo kun je via de camera-video-instellingen & deze knop de 'hiss' ontlopen en een zeer goede opnamekwaliteit hebben.
Echt een aanrader! Handig in gebruik, lichtgewicht mic.
Een minpuntje zou kunnen zijn dat er een tasje / zakje bij had kunnen zitten om 'm mee te kunnen nemen op reis, maar daar is natuurlijk altijd wel wat op te verzinnen. Prima mic!
Je kan het geluid extra versterken, -10dB, 0dB of +20 dB voor het instellen van de opname.
De microfoon werkt met een 9 volt battery die 70 uren stroom levert voor de microfoon.
Via de mini jack is deze gemakkelijk aan te sluiten op iedere camera met een mini jack ingang.
