The renowned VideoMic by Rode has been updated. Since the microphone's technology was already perfect, it has remained unaltered so you can still enjoy the familiar sound quality and ease of use of Rode. However, the suspension has thankfully been replaced with a beautiful red Rycote suspension, reducing vibrations, ambient noises and increasing overall sound quality. Ideal!
The Improved Suspension of the VideoMic MKII
The Rode VideoMic MKII contains Rycote’s unique suspension, which is directly mounted to the microphone with screws. Vulnerable elastic bands are no longer used, since a special synthetic construction takes care of vibrations - this makes the system a lot more durable and robust! Just as with the old VideoMic, a hot shoe is included, so that this video microphone can easily be fitted to a camera.
Technical Details of the Rode VideoMic MKII
The VideoMic MKII is a condenser microphone, which means that it requires a phantom power supply and is quite sensitive. Nevertheless, it can handle loud noises and the integrated windscreen supresses wind noise. Thanks to the built-in 80Hz low-cut filter, noise-sensitive low tones are suppressed, so that you can enjoy a perfect recording every time.

Beste wat er te koop is voor deze prijs, aanrader!
De bedoeling voor mij was dus voornamelijk interviews opnemen buiten.
Je kan de mic rechtstreeks vanboven op je camera aansluiten, kabel erin en je bent vertrokken.
Ikzelf heb een verlengkabel gekocht zodat ik mensen van ver voor de camera kan interviewen.
Veel mensen zeggen dat de kabel te kort is, maar indien deze gewoon op de camera geplaatst wordt hoeft die helemaal niet zo lang te zijn. (Indien je als mij verder wil opnemen neem je er gewoon even een verlengkabel bij.)
Het geluid is uitstekend en perfect ook voor opname buiten. Je kan de hertz stand verwisselen afhankelijk van de hoeveelheid achtergrondgeluid.
De stabilisator is ook zeker een pluspunt bij eventuele harde bewegingen.
Het is zeker een aanrader en je krijgt een goed betrouwbaar product met uitstekende garantie voor een lage prijs.
In het begin dacht ik veel last te hebben van ruis maar na wat uitpuzzel werk kwam ik er achter dat de ruis gemaakt werd door de image stabilisator in mijn les.

- De switch voor -10 / 0 / +20 DB zit op een onhandige plek (Naast de batterij). bij wisselende geluid sterktes is het best veel in camera aanpassen van de input.
Conclusie : Goed product! ben er erg blij mee, vooral voor semi-pro videograven met een DSLR een goede aankoop.

Achteraf ben ik erg blij met deze keuze. Voor de helft van geld van de "VideoMic Pro" is het verschil in kwaliteit bijna niet te horen. Ook buiten is hij (met een deadcat) prima te gebruiken.
Omgevingsgeluid komt er nog wel doorheen, maar ik denk dat je voor dit bedrag ook niet beter kunt verwachten.
Zeker een aanrader!!
Ook bij het bewegen hoor je niets bij opname dit komt door de nieuwe unieke verbeterde ophanging
met een vast frame i.p.v. losse rubber banden.
De geluidskwaliteit is supergoed. en de micro is ook nog eens superlicht en sterk.
Kortom de ideale lichtgewicht micro voor alle gerichte opnames voor zowel binnen als buiten.

Toen ik hem voor het eerst had gebruikt en een video terug keek op mijn camera leek het alsof ik als nog veel ruis had. Toen ik de video nogmaals op de computer bekeek was ik zeer verbaasd.
Het geluid is erg zuiver en je heb zo ver ik hem gebruik géén last van ruis.
Met deze microfoon heb je zelfs de mogelijkheid om met 80hz op te nemen. De kwaliteit gaat met 80 hz nauwelijks achteruit.
Ik zou deze microfoon erg aanraden voor mensen die zelf video's maken van natuurvideo's tot YouTube praatvideo's hij neemt het allemaal zuiver op.
