General
Spanish guitar builder Manuel Rodriguez has expanded their product range with cajons! This particular one is the Vintage MR, which matches their guitars perfectly in look and tone. The cajon is essential in Flamenco music and this model features two V snare wires and delivers an authentic sound. It is not only suitable for Flamenco music, however. This percussion instrument is ideal as an alternative to a drum set at an acoustic gig, for instance. Using the tuning mechanism, you can adjust the snare wires by making them sound sharper or more muted.
Made of birch
Both the body and the playing surface of this cajon are made of birch, but the playing surface is made of older wood. This gives the instrument a darker tone with deep bass and clear slaps, while still maintaining its warmth. Each corner and edge of this cajon have been rounded for optimal comfort while playing. In the rear, there is a sound hole of 120mm in diameter for enhanced projection. In short, it's an attractive cajon made with the same quality standards as any Manuel Rodriguez guitar!
