Do you often perform in smaller venues without amplification? In that case, the Meinl SUBCAJ5WN subwoofer cajon is just the ticket. An opening was made on the front of this cajon, allowing it to project the rich low bass tones directly into the audience. In combination with its slightly larger-than-average size, that leads to a deep and powerful bass.

The walnut frontplate features a beautiful wood grain pattern, which nicely contrasts with the dark finish of the resonating body. On the bottom of the instrument you'll find rubber feet for added stability, while the top of the frontplate is adjustable, allowing you to create a wide range of sounds. The Subwoofer Cajon certainly lives up to its name, as it produces more low-frequency tones than a regular cajon does. They are clearly audible without the need for any amplification - which is why this cajon is ideal for smaller-scale gigs.

After a lot of research and thought I ordered a Meinl SUBCAJ5WN Subwoofer Cajon from Bax Music. When deciding on a cajon it's difficult choosing the one that's going to suit your needs and your pocket. This seemed to do both and boy does it ever!

Brilliant and ballsy bass and snappy snare effects can be produced with ease. Room filling sound which will more than hold its own with any other cajon I've tried.

It's solidly constructed, I'm 6' 4" and 16 stone and it stands up to my weight and thumping.

Delivery was quick and packaging was excellent.

A fine instrument from a good company. When I need some accessories, I'll be back.
