Meinl CAJ3BMB-M cajon, makah burl incl. carrying bag

General

Meinl's CAJ3BMB-M is a cajon with a wide sound spectrum, that comes with a sturdy black Meinl cajon carrying bag for safe transportation. This Peruvian hand percussion instrument consists of two major parts. The first part being the adjustable makah-burl frontplate, which is ergonomically shaped to provide more playing comfort. The second part is the naturally finished body, in which the tones you produce resonate. Recently, the cajon has been gaining popularity as an instrument for accompanying other musicians in smaller-scale performances.

The cajon

To play the cajon, first you sit down on the padded sitting surface on top of the body. Then you play it by hitting the frontplate with your hands, and possibly even your heels. The sound will exit the body through the Sound Port Ring at the back. Furthermore, you won't have to worry about damaging the bottom of this cajon, as it was fitted with special rubber feet that also prevent the sound from being distorted by direct contact with the ground. Inside the body, you will find the String Mute System that consists of the snare wires that give the cajon its sizzle effect. All of this is adjustable with the included Allen key, and that allows for this instruments wide sound spectrum.

The carrying bag

As mentioned before, the CAJ3BMB-M comes with a sturdy black Meinl carrying bag. This bag was specifically designed for Meinl cajons and offers you a safe way of transporting your instrument. The side of the bag can be zipped open all the way, which makes it easier for you to put the cajon in the bag, or to take it out. On the flap you will also find a small pocket for any accessories and the corners of the bag are reinforced with rubber protectors. Finally, the bag features two carrying handles that can be joined together and an adjustable shoulder strap.
