Few instruments are as organic and primal in nature as a cajon. Originating from Peruvian tea cases played by slaves, the cajon has come into its own as an instrument throughout the years, and the German Sela company has become quite proficient at manufacturing them. This particular one, the CaSela, is a cajon that you get to assemble yourself. That may sound daunting, but all you'll need is a hammer, a screwdriver and a little bit of time.

Sela CaSela Professional Snare Cajon: customise your sound

At its base, this cajon has a 15mm-thick 11-ply birch body, which gives it its fantastic sound with excellent projection (partly thanks to the sound port on the back). It also features rounded corners, which means it's very comfortable to play, even for longer stretches. Furthermore, it also has adjustable Clap Corners that allow for a myriad of possible sound variations. The Sela Snare System offers bright accents, but if you prefer a traditional warm and deep cajon sound, you can easily remove it. In short, the Sela CaSela will bow to your every percussive demand.
