General
Unidirectional microphones are often used in locations where dispersed sound needs to be picked up with one microphone. The CM10B is a perfect choice for houses of worships and the recording of choirs. As it can be positioned at a distance, it can be kept out of sight. The microphone allows for a clear sound thanks to the professional materials. Its exterior is well protected. A built-in hi-pass filter ensures that no unnecessary low frequencies are incorporated in the sound.
The connector of the microphone is a mini XLR and thanks to the accessory cable of nearly 10 metres, which runs from mini XLR to ordinary XLR, you can connect the microphone directly to the mixer. You can position the microphone on nearly any material, as the underside is provided with a rubber plate that prevents it from sliding out of place. This means that contact noise is eliminated thanks to the layer between microphone and mounting point. Everything has been thought of with this Samson microphone!

Mijn conclusie dat dit een perfecte microfoon is!
Deze worden tijdens de opvoering van het toneel gebruikt om de spraak van de acteurs te versterken.
We moeten vaststellen dat dit uitstekend werkt. De dialogen van onze spelers zijn hierdoor veel beter te verstaan in de zaal.
Wat mij betreft een zeer goede investering voor een zacht prijsje.

De "erfenis" die ik al technicus had overgenomen bleken 5 meest drumstel gerelateerde AKG microfoons te wezen.
3 in het plafond boven het podium en 2 aan de "lichtbalk" voor het podium.
Het geluid was vaak niet goed te krijgen en vergde veel flexibiliteit en "fingerspitzen gefuhl", het was nooit een gesloten geheel.
Gelukkig was er voor dit jaar een budget vrijgemaakt voor de aanschaf van geschiktere microfoons.
Op de website van onze "hofleverancier" (BAX-shop natuurlijk) vond ik al snel deze wand/plafond microfoon van Samson.
De specificaties beloofden veel goeds en de (aanbiedings)prijs was zeer interressant.
Ik heb er direct 2 besteld en ze waren binnen de beloofde 4 werkdagen in huis.
Opvallend was het mooie kleine formaat en toch een "solide" gewicht wat al met al een betrouwbaar gevoel gaf.
Eenmaal bevestigd op het plafond (eenvoudige montage mbv. schroeven) de meegeleverde mini XLR aangesloten op de microfoon en aan de andere kant (10 meter) de XLR aangesloten op de bestaande bekabeling richting mengpaneel.
De eerste testjes deden een glimlach op mijn mondhoeken verschijnen.
Tijdens de eerstvolgende repetitie heb ik de microfoons goed kunnen uittesten en mijn conclusie (en die van de regisseur en mijn licht-collega) was dat dit een perfecte microfoon is!
De 2 Samson microfoons hebben in een keer de 5 AKG's overbodig gemaakt.
Het geluid wordt mooi helder opgevangen en door het kleine formaat zijn ze onopvallend aanwezig.
Kortom:
Een absolute aanrader voor amateur-toneel of andersoortige klein-podia aangelegenheden.
