The LPH601-SMC by Latin Percussion is a Highline bongo set. Latin Percussion is the largest manufacturer of hand percussion instruments in the world. This set consists of a pair of bongos that are attached together, the larger one having an 8-inch diameter and the smaller one having a 6.75-inch diameter. Both drums feature Remo Fiberskyn® 3 drumheads, which are often used in jazz and orchestral music, and offer a warm sound and plenty of attack. The bongos themselves are made of 2-ply laminated rubberwood and feature a satin mahogany finish. Furthermore, the bongos are fitted with rubber feet, so that the set doesn't rest on the drum shells.

Adjusting the pitch

Both bongos are equipped with a rim and four tuning lugs. By tightening or loosening the tuning lugs, you adjust the tension on the drumhead, which in turn adjusts the pitch of the drum - tighter means higher, looser means lower. This way, you can adjust the pitch of your bongos to suit your personal preference. The tuning lugs and the rim feature a chrome finish.
