The LPH601-SBB by Latin Percussion is a Highline bongo set. Latin Percussion is the largest manufacturer of hand percussion instruments in the world. This set consists of an 8-inch bongo and a 6.75-inch bongo, both of which are equipped with a Remo Fiberskyn® 3 drumhead. These heads are often used for jazz and orchestral applications, as they have a warm sound and attack. The set is made of 2-ply laminated rubberwood, with a beautiful satin black finish. Furthermore, the bongos feature rubber feet so that they won't rest directly on the bottom of the shells.

High and low tones

Both bongos have four tuning lugs and a rim with a black nickel finish. The rim is what pulls the drumhead tautly over the shell. Tightening or loosening the four lugs will adjust the tension on the drumhead, which in turn affects the pitch of the drum. A tightened drumhead produces a higher pitch, while a loosely tuned drumhead produces a lower pitch. This way, you can adjust the sound of these bongos to fit your personal preference.
