General
With no less than 150W RMS power the Ampeg BA-115 v2 is the ideal combo to use on stage. This 15-inch bass guitar amp combo gives a full-bodied, warm sound via the authentic Ampeg preamp and the Bass Scrambler Overdrive. The rugged portable design is quite different in comparison to its predecessor; the buttons are situated on the front, and the housing itself is asymmetrical. This allows you to tilt the amp to an angle of 60 degrees to get a more detailed and direct sound.
BA-115 v2: Comprehensive Tone Control
You can adjust the sound of the Ampeg BA-115 v2 to your liking with the comprehensive tone control that not only features bass, mid and treble controls, but also has two switches to activate the Ultra-Hi or Ultra-Lo circuits. Ultra-Hi boosts all frequencies above 8 kHz with an extra 5 dB, giving your bass a bit more punch and a more aggressive sound, while the Ultra-Lo adds a bit of warmth.
Bass Scrambler Overdrive
The Bass Scrambler overdrive circuit provides that classic, tube overdrive. You can adjust the setting with the drive/mix rotary buttons. If you like, you can also turn the overdrive off with the optional foot switch. The BA-115 v2 has a 15-inch woofer and Piëzo HF driver which adds definition to the bass.

Mooie effecten die voor mooie geluid verzorgen.
Combo bevalt echt prima. Volume genoeg. Zoals anderen ook schrijven, veel mogelijkheden om het geluid te tunen. Scrambler werkt mooi, en is goed mixbaar.
Ik gebruik daarnaast ook een Zoom effect-baspedaaltje. Wel jammer dat de insert achter de xlr uitgang geschakeld is. Daarom gebruik ik het pedaal nu alsnog tussen de gitaren en de combo, om het effect mee te laten gaan naar de PA. Ik speel een Jazz bass en een Ibanez 5-string fretless, die via een Fender schakelpedaaltje naar effectpedaal en Ampeg gaan. Beide komen goed tot hun recht. Combo voelt degelijk aan. Aanrader voor dit geld.
Helaas is er een storende ruis hoorbaar die vooral op lage volumes al snel irritant wordt. Uitschakelen van de hoorn heeft hierop geen effect. Dit was voor mij reden om de versterker terug te sturen.
De versterker is erg stevig en heeft flink wat vermogen. Een aanrader dus!
