General

Laney's Ministack B-Lion is based on the mighty Lionheart tube amp, but it's a lot more compact and, while it doesn't house real tubes, it does feature a solid chunk of modern tech to help you get your creative juices flowing. Next to two channels (clean/drive) and a tone control, the Ministack comes with a Laney-developed Smartphone Insert input, which opens up a world of digital amp sounds that can be tapped into via Bluetooth. Headphones can of course be plugged directly into the amp, and you're free to hook up a playback device via the fitted AUX input so you can have the 4x 3" speaker configuration deliver both your backing tracks and your tone with a satisfying amount of punch, bass and brightness. Oh, and to sweeten the deal some more, Laney throw in a 3-month subscription to Tonebridge (Ultimate Guitar).

Ben je als gitarist op zoek naar een compacte oefenversterker, dan heb je hem nu gevonden.
Dit is oerdegelijk gebouwd en van hout gemaakt en dat is nu net waardoor lagere diepe klanken klinken net zoals een grote versterker.
Zoals veel andere gitaristen was ik op zoek naar een kleine oefenversterker die niet klinkt zoals een transistor radiootje, maar een warm en degelijk geluid produceerd en dat is gelukt, boven verwachting zelfs.
Voorzien van een mooie delay en een goed drive kanaal, kortom zeer goede kwaliteit.
Een absolute aanrader.

Deze Laney Ministack is echt een mooi product. Dit is niet een plastic speelgoed dingetje, deze is net zo gebouwd als de grote Lionhearts: houten kastje met Tolex bekleed. Zelfde chromen frontpaneel, zelfde soort knoppen. Qua geluid zit je ook goed: mooi helder en hij klinkt groter dan dat hij is. Natuurlijk is 4x3 inch niet hetzelfde als 1x12 inch. Je verwachtingen moeten wel realistisch zijn. Dit is en blijft gewoon een kleine versterker.

Ik kocht hem als vervanger voor mijn defecte Yamaha THR10. Die klonk wel beter dan deze Laney maar daarvoor kost hij ook meer dan 3 keer zoveel. De Laney biedt ten opzicht van de THR10 de mogelijkheid Tonebridge software te gebruiken (check internet voor filmpjes!). Daarmee klink je binnen een paar tellen als jouw favoriete gitarist. Duizenden presets die je kunt gebruiken zonder ervoor te moeten studeren. Klik op Layla van Clapton, start de muziek op Spotify en stream deze via Bluetooth naar de Laney en speel lekker mee.

Ik heb ook mijn Line6 M13 effectenbak erop aangesloten. Dat gaat best goed maar de Laney reageert niet zo goed op overdrives als mijn andere Laney (15 watt buizenbak). Ook weer niet verrassend, het blijft een klein transistorversterkertje. Is met wat andere instellingen ook prima op te lossen maar eigenlijk is het ook niet echt nodig als je Tonebridge gebruikt.

Ik ben dik tevreden met deze mini stack. Voordat ik hem bestelde heb ik dagenlang filmpjes bekeken van dit soort mini versterkertjes. Wil je een beter klinkende dan deze dan moet je meer dan 300 euro uitgeven.
Ik wilde niet meer zoveel uitgeven en heb gekozen voor deze Laney. Het is een fijn klein apparaat dat ik naast me neerzet op de bank, mijn gitaar inplug en lekker speel terwijl ik TV kijk.
