Back in the day, your average bass amplifier and cabinet was so big and heavy it was virtually unmanageable. These days, like everything else, bass rigs are getting smaller and smaller, and lighter and lighter, bringing us to the Ampeg SVT Micro VR Head: a miniaturised monster of bass.

Barely any bigger than a loaf of bread, you could easily describe this amplifier as a little cutie, but you'd be wrong. The Ampeg SVT Micro VR packs a hefty output of no less than 200 Watts and comes fully prepped for gigging as well as studio work. Tweak the provided three-band EQ controls to shape tasty and round, full sound, especially when coupled with the Ampeg SVT 210 AV speaker cabinet, and polish off a comfortably portable, yet utterly formidable rig.

Hartke presented four new bass effects pedals and a bass amp head at this year's NAMM show. The four new pedals are the Bass Attack 2 DI box, the HC33 analogue bas chorus, the HF44 fuzz pedal and the HL77 loop pedal. The TX600 amp head has a capacity of 600 watts.
