The Sadowsky SBP-1 Bass Preamp kits bassists out with a preamp and DI pedal that features the same high-quality electronics that Sadowsky crams into their basses. The volume, treble and bass controls speak for themselves, but it's worth pointing out that the treble and bass pots only boost their respective frequency ranges. The SBP-1 is a great choice for passive bass guitars as well as for a vintage bass that you want to upgrade without having to replace the electronics.

Wrote the following about Sadowsky SBP-1 Bass Preamp / DI

Ik heb deze unit aangeschaft omdat ik een fan ben van de preamp die in de Sadowsky bassen te vinden is. Nu kan ik in principe van elke passieve bas een actieve maken. Groot voordeel daarbij is dat het karakteristieke passieve geluid behouden blijft met dit pedaal. Vaak heb je met onboard preamps dat de articulering net wat minder wordt als je de bas actief schakelt. Er gaat dan iets van karakter verloren. Niet met dit pedaal dus. Gewoon je passieve geluid, maar dan met een extra dikke bodem erin als je de bas open draait. Max 30% zou ik doen, want anders wordt het wel heel veel. De treble geeft iets mooi extra's voor je slapgeluid of wanneer je met een plectrum speelt. Maar eigenlijk gebruik ik die knop niet. Bij mij staat de preamp in principe altijd aan en is het heel handig dat er een mute knop op zit. De D.I. is ook meer dan uitstekend. Voor mij is dit het perfecte preamp pedaal: degelijk, simpel en bevat alleen wat ik nodig heb.
