Make the bluegrass music come alive again with this Ibanez B50 banjo. Ibanez is mainly known for its guitars but after having been away for a while, Ibanez has returned to the banjo world with this B50, a high-quality bluegrass banjo with a budget-friendly price. The B50 is made of mahogany and has a Remo 11-inch Weatherking top that is suited for outdoor use. With this B50 you can now enjoy that great twang and energetic melodies again.

Tradition and slapstick music
Bluegrass music has its roots in Appalachia, a cultural region in the Eastern United States, where immigrants from Great-Britain played their traditional music and where country and sub-genres came into existence. Bluegrass is derived from country music and those energetic bluegrass banjo motifs are nowadays mainly used in typical slapstick music.

De marketing is naar mijn mening wel een beetje misleidend.
Het echte geluid van de bluegrass banjo komt door gebruik van een flange en/of tone ring.
Deze banjo heeft beide niet, enkel een klank kast.
Wat trouwens niets zegt over de kwaliteit van het instrument.

Gewoon een goede banjo met resonator.
Nek voelt goed in de hand en speelt lekker weg.
Hardware is van iets mindere kwaliteit maar voor deze prijs goed.

Ibanez has added two guitars to its Iron Label RG series: the RG and the RG-7. These are real metal machines but with a spalted maple top and headstock. Apart from that, they have the standard Iron Label RG features, with two EMG humbuckers, 24 jumbo frets and a neck made of maple and bubinga.
