Built by the eminent Two Notes, the Torpedo Captor X SE 8 is a limited edition load box, attenuator, cabinet-emulator, impulse response-loader and stereo expander in one. Designed to help you make the most of your tube amp, this forward-thinking bit of kit acts like it's a guitar cabinet so you can load up IRs using the included software and combine the sound of your favourite cab with one or more of your favourite microphones. Whether you're performing on stage or recording tracks in the studio, with the Torpedo Captor X SE 8, you're always going to have your signature sound at your disposal.

New Features of the Torpedo Captor X SE 8

While the regular Captor X is already one of the best-selling load boxes of late, this limited edition actually piles on a handful of fresh features. So, besides a vintage-style finish, it comes with the Anniversary Edition DynIRTM cabinet collection - a collection filled with dynamic IRs of various iconic cabs - plus a built-in stereo expander so you can simulate double-tracking by routing the mono signal from your amp to the Torpedo Captor X SE 8 and adding a simulated signal (or a virtual guitarist if you will).

And There's More!

Other welcome new additions are the Voicing control and the Space control. The Voice functionality gives you the option to tweak any preset based on the room, the stage or recording session. When it's turned to the left, your sound is immediately lent more mix-slicing power, while turning it to the right 'scoops' the sound, resulting in a less muddy, more modern sound. It's basically a kind of EQ pot that lets you shape your overall sound depending on the space you're in. Lastly, there's the Space pot, which enables you to set the width of the stereo reverb, ranging from the subtle to the extreme.
