General
The Yamaha MG12XU is a great-sounding compact 12-channel analogue mixer with a built-in SPX multi-effect unit and a USB interface. It has four mono channels with an XLR / jack combo connection, two mono / stereo channels and two stereo channels. Every channels is equipped with a 3-band equalizer, with parametric midrange on the first eight channels. These channels also feature a one-knob compressor and a Class A D-PRE preamplifier with phantom power.
MG12X: USB Interface
The Yamaha MG12X doubles as a 2-in / 2-out USB interface with a maximal recording resolution of 24-bit / 192 kHz. By linking this device to your PC or Mac you can get started with recording right away. Sound can also be sent from your PC to the mixer, and it will come in on channels 11-12. This, of course, makes the MG12XU excellent for use in your home studio.
XU Models and SPX Multi-Effects
The MG series by Yamaha is incredibly comprehensive. Something unique to the XU models is that they're equipped with SPX effects. The multi-effects from this series can be found in many reputable studios and are of very high quality, and include chorus, flanger, distortion, reverb and delay, which can all easily be accessed with the preset button.

Onder Windows 10 heb ik wel eens audio drop outs, maar dit is nu helemaal opgelost door eerst de mixer aan te zetten en daarna pas de pc op te starten. Sindsdien zijn alle problemen opgelost.
Heerlijke sliders die kwaliteit uitstralen en ook zo aanvoelen, de Mic preamps klinken fantastisch en tijdens het livestreamen geeft de mixer ook geen problemen.
Le seul blème pour moi, c'est que Yamaha ne fourni que les drivers pour Windows 10 et pas vista!
Je ne peux pas regretter cet achat, en plus, l'équipe de Bax est disponible et compétente!!!
A vos deniers si vous êtes musicien ou bidouilleur.
Paar nadelen ook. De PFL knoppen geven geen licht dus je ziet soms niet duidelijk welke kanalen in PFL staan. De effecten module vind ik wat tegen vallen, maar ja wat kan je verwachten voor die paar tientjes extra. Toch vind ik dit het prijsverschil niet waard.
De fader mute knoppen werken precies tegengesteld. Je moet ze indrukken om het kanaal 'aan' te zetten. En die knoppen geven dan weer wel licht terwijl ik dat nou juist weer onlogisch en storend vind.
Er is een bijpassende draagtas voor verkrijgbaar. Best handig, maar ik heb uiteindelijk toch gekozen voor de (veel duurdere maar stevige) DAP Daily Case 30.
