The Mackie 802VLZ4 is one of the most compact models from the VLZ4 series. With its three mono channels and two stereo channels, this manageable mixer is ideal for modest studio and live applications. It's equipped with high-grade Onyx preamplifiers, which ensure low-noise audio with a wide dynamic range, and with redesigned, high-contrast controls for easy operation.

802VLZ4: Exceptionally Sturdy

For decades, Mackie has been known for its remarkably rugged mixers. The 802VLZ4, too, comes with a metal, powder-coated housing that can easily withstand tough circumstances on the road. Additionally, it's equipped with sealed knobs, which protect its interior from dust and dirt. In short, this mixer has all the characteristic Mackie traits, ensuring professional results.

A Range of Inputs and Outputs

If you're working with a small band, the 802VLZ4 offers everything you need. There's room for a microphone, a guitar, a bass guitar, a keyboard and an electronic drum kit. Connect a guitar to one of the first two mono inputs and you won't even need a DI box, thanks to the mixer's switchable instrument input. The Mackie 802VLZ4 also features a range of outputs, inserts and returns, so you can easily connect your monitor or PA speakers, a laptop, a pair of headphones or your external effects gear.

Wrote the following about Mackie 802VLZ4 Mixer

Ik heb de mixer nu ongeveer 2 weken in bezit en ik moet zeggen dat deze erg goed bevalt. Ik was vooraf een beetje bang dat de mixer het signaal wat eerst rechtstreeks mijn Babyface Pro in gaat, zou verstoren. Door het toevoegen van een dosis ruis en/of beïnvloeden van geluidskwaliteit. Daarom wilde ik niet gaan voor de budget merken.
Ooit heb ik eerder een Mackie 1604VLZ gehad en dat apparaat had meer "ruis" in zich. Maar dan praat ik over begin van dit Millennium.
Over dit apparaat ben ik erg tevreden over deze aspecten. Nul ruis en een fantastische geluidskwaliteit, als ware het dat mijn synth nog steeds rechtstreeks op mijn Babyface zit aangesloten en dat is absoluut een compliment voor het apparaat en voor Mackie.
Verder straalt de mixer kwaliteit uit. Stevig gebouwd als een tank. Fijne potmeters met precies de goede weerstand. EQ is erg goed en niet te vergeten de MIC pre amps zijn zeer goed... Ik kan mijn condenser mic inpluggen in mijn Mackie met 48v fantom power en ik kan afscheid nemen van mijn Devine MPS1000.
Mijn advies aan eenieder die op zoek is naar een compacte mixer niet te beknibbelen op de mixer, al moet ik wel eerlijk bekennen dat ik niet bekend ben met merken als Behringer en Devine op dit gebied.
Succes met de keuze, ik hoop dat deze review in de keuze kan bijdragen.

Deze Mackie aangeschaft als vervanger van mijn Tapco mixertje en heb daar absoluut geen spijt van.
Stevig gebouwde mixer, makkelijk te doorgronden en veelzijdig in gebruik met een flinke output op de koptelefoon uitgang en nog belangrijker: een zeer aangename stilte! Geen eigen ruis, brom en dergelijk ongemak.
Dik 5 sterren dus!

Ik heb deze mixer nu een maand in gebruik, en ik moet zeggen: Wat een fantastisch apparaat! Vooral de ALT-OUT mogelijkheid is voor mij een uitkomst. Hiermee kan men de geselecteerde kanalen van effecten voorzien voordat ze op de uitgang verschijnen. De Mackie is verder degelijk gebouwd, geen plastic maar metaal en weegt als dieplood en kan tegen een stootje. De geluidskwaliteit is subliem, praktisch geen ruis waarneembaar. Wat een verschil met mn vorige mixer van Behringer.

Kortom een veelzijdig apparaat voor de veeleisende gebruiker. Mocht u een mixer willen aanschaffen dan zou ik de VLZ4 serie van Mackie adviseren. Iets prijziger maar zijn geld waard!
