Feast your eyes on a great new solution for an old problem! Are you going to buy powered speakers, or a passive set with separate amplifiers? With the APL-12 module and (separately available) matching PL-12 speakers by JB Systems, you can actually switch between the two options, as this amp module can be mounted in your cabinet within minutes. The great advantage of the module is the digital amplification, which saves space and precludes the need for large components - this is why the module is quite compact and not too deep. Also, its light weight makes it highly manageable.

The APL 12 produces 190 watts at 8 ohms and 300 watts at 4 ohms. A lockable speaker output on the module lets you amplify two PL-12 cabinets, whereby the one is active and the other is amplified by the module from another PL cabinet. You can directly connect a microphone or instrument and line-in to the module, which is highly practical for clubs or solo artists who don't require extensive mixers. Once you've set up the unit, it's good to go!

All in all, this amp module is ideal if you want to make your PL-series speakers active and thus create a portable, manageable set with a variety of connector and setting options.

Wrote the following about JB systems APL 12 digital amplifier module

Heb ém nog maar net een week. Eerste indruk: goed ding. Als ie voluit staat zonder signaal op de ingang, hoor je nauwelijks ruis of brom. Maar als je voluit muziek hebt gedraaid, heb je meteen als dat afgelopen is nog kort flinke ruis die na een seconde wordt afgekapt. Ofwel een dynamisch ruisfilter, ofwel inherent aan het PWM-systeem. Moet ik nog eens uitzoeken. Maar het is een theoretisch verhaal, want die ruis hoor je niet als de versterker op volume speelt.
Ik kom nog uit de tijd van de zware trafo's en grote koelingen. Verbazingwekkend wat een geweld er dan uit zo'n klein pakket komt. Kortom erg tevreden.
