VOX' MV50 series consists of a number of innovative compact guitar amplifier heads that are equipped with revolutionary Nutube technology. With a boosted high and low end, this High Gain model is perfect for playing riffs and thick-sounding solos. There's a switch on the back that lets you choose what you want to do with the mids. You can cut them, boost them or just leave the setting in the middle. Thanks to the characteristic sound of the on-board Korg Nutube 6P1 preamp, you probably won't believe your ears when you hear what this deceptively cute little amp head is capable of! It even has a handy VU meter that shows the input level which adds to its impressive appearance too.

MV50 High Gain: 4, 8 and 16-ohm speaker cabinets

When using a larger speaker cabinet, the EQ switch can be left on the flat setting, but with smaller cabinets you may want to boost the lower end by using the deep setting. The ability you use this amp head with speaker cabinets of different impedances is another thing that makes it so versatile. At 4 ohms you get 50 watts of power, with 25 watts at 8 ohms and 12.5 watts at 16 ohms. There's a combined line out and headphone socket too which means you even can use this amp head without a cabinet at all!

Mesa has continued their glorious tradition by using four EL-84 power tubes in the amplifier, contrary to the earlier Mark Five Twenty-Five, that had to manage with 'only' two.
