A good amp head is a must-have for heavier guitar styles. Randall's 5-watt RD5H Diavlo gives you awesome tube sounds at a volume that's suitable for use at home. Controls for gain, tone and volume allow you customise the sound to perfection. It works with any speaker cabinet that has an impedance of 8 ohms or more.
Randall RD5H: raw and ready
The RD5H is equipped with two 12AX7 tubes in the preamp to give it its tasty tube sound. A single 6V6 tube in the power amp delivers the sound with a strong presence in the lows. You can connect your favourite effects pedals using the FX loop and record or amplify the sound easily using the emulated output. You'll be amazed at just how raw the tube sounds of the Randall RD5H 5-watt tube guitar amplifier head can be!

Its small, punchy and the tone is perfect for modern metal.
I use this for recording using the XLR cab simulated output from the Randall head directly to my soundcard and it sounds great.
If you are thinking about it just buy it, you won't get a better metal valve tone anywhere else for anything near bax price of the current £159!
