Koch Powertone III 50W Guitar Amplifier Head
Product no: 9000-0008-3820 Bax Music Warranty: This product comes with a 3-year warranty.

General

If the richly coloured, 'all tube' sound of this tube head doesn't convince you then maybe its extensive functionality will. The Koch Powertone III (50 Watt) is a hard-rocking, tonal acrobat that you can't help but fall for. Now in its third generation, the MKIII has retained the very best features while including fresh tweaks and additions. The Clean Channel has been made even more versatile by the gift of a dedicated Gain control that maintains warmth and transparency even when pushed.

Powertone III: Channel 2 and OTS

Channel 2 of the Powertone III has also undergone a makeover. Now graced with a more American character, the high-gain and even ultra-high gain offer remarkably tight and rich tone, with excellent definition, depth and heaps of power. To load even more power on top, an OTS circuit (Output Tube Saturation) has been fitted. This built-in effect is created by a small tube amplifier that, for both channels, delivers an authentic amplifier overdrive at every level!

Foot-Controlled Functions

This head comes with an FS4 footswitch included that can toggle the Lead-Boost for channel 2, the OTS circuit on either channel and can even flip between master volume I and II. These volume pots can also be found on the face of the amp, in the same bank as a new Depth control (bass boost) and next to the Presence pot. The Powertone also comes armed with two, fully tube-driven effect loops (controlled via MIDI or an optional FS2 foot switch).

Koch Quality

After a long career as a guitarist and tube amp expert, Dolf Koch founded his own company in 1988. Ever since then, the brand has developed high-quality guitar and bass amplifiers that focus on practicality, versatility and the delivery of a balanced, unique sound. Since each amp is carefully constructed and diligently tested in great detail, it's little wonder that so many professionals rely on Koch quality!
