General

The Turbosound iP12B is a ground-shaking 500 Watt subwoofer fitted with two 125 Watt amplifiers to drive a pair of satellite speakers. This brawny sub also has the intellect provided by a DSP chip and Bluetooth connectivity. The DSP assures the best possible signal integrity and is supported by a digital mixer, crossover, compressor and limiter so that, whatever the situation, the Turbosound iP12B delivers nothing but premium, rumbling audio reproduction. By pairing the sub with an iPhone or iPad, the Bluetooth module can be used to simply stream music or even to remotely control the parameters.

Wrote the following about Turbosound iP12B 12-inch Active DSP Subwoofer

Not bad at all for the money. Bought to make up a lightweight portable rig for rehearsals / small gigs and in my studio. It doesn't push as much air as my Behringer B1500XP & if it were to be my only sub i'd probably have gone for the 15" model but that's personal preference, i like my bass deep, but this sub is an easy one-man lift down stairs. The other main selling point was the output for satellite speakers. The amp for speakers is decent, it's not hugely powerful but adequate for rehearsals, common sense tells you not to push it if your speakers are rated higher than the amp. It saves me having to take my amp rack with a crossover out which is heavy. The app is ok, would be nice to have a numerical indication of levels though. If you already have some decent passive speakers & don't want to carry an extra amp around then this feature is a reason to choose this sub over others in this price range.

Ik heb reeds eerder de IP15b gekocht en was op zoek naar een nog compactere en lichtere sub ( 100% tevreden over de ip15b) in combinatie met de ip300 en ip82 tops. Uiteraard is bvb de IQ15B performanter, maar voor mij gaat het hier over gewicht en functionaliteit. Vroeger was het groot, groter, groots, maar nu verkies ik eerder licht en compact.

Tevens heb ik de IP2000 en IP3000 enige tijd in gebruik en ik kan niets verkeerd zeggen over het merk en zijn prijs/kwaliteit/performance. Ik wist dus ongeveer wat ik kon verwachten van deze ip12b, die dezelfde basis heeft als de ip2000 ( handig weetje:de covers van de ip2000 base passen op de ip12B )

Ik heb, voor ik deze ip12b Turbosounds kocht, een soortgelijke 12" sub gekocht van een merk waarvan ik dacht dat dit mogelijk een betere koop zou zijn ( gelet de diverse positieve reviews op het net over dit Italiaanse merk... ) Toch besloten het erop te wagen.... Echter, deze IP is gewoon beter, veelzijdiger, performanter: daar waar het andere merk vrij vlug een rood waarschuwingslampje, betekende dat de limiet is bereikt, aangeeft, gaat deze Turbosound gewoon verder, zonder morren.

De IP series zijn veelzijdiger door de extra passieve outputs, dsp, Bluetooth: allemaal features die de andere sub niét heeft. Keuze vlug gemaakt: Turbosound: klein/krachtig/multifunctioneel !

Bovendien: in combinatie met de ip82 topkasten is deze set interessanter en veelzijdiger dan bvb een set 12" tops.

Ik durf gerust stellen dat deze combinatie een 12" top van bekende merken met een prijskaartje van + 700/800 euro het nakijken geeft qua performance en veelzijdigheid.

Enig min-punjte: de coating pré 2018 is duurzamer en oogt netter dan de huidige generatie verf, maar dat is persoonlijke voorkeur uiteraard.

More Bass with QSC K Cardioid Subwoofer and E Series

With a regular subwoofer, you can often lose low tones. QSC has found the solution to that problem and named it the K Cardioid. They plan to officially launch this active sub at the 2017 NAMM show next week. It has a cardioid directional pattern at its core which effectively prevents low frequencies from escaping via the rear or sides of the cabinet, resulting in more bass and a higher sound pressure level!
