General

RCF's SUB 8003-AS II is a powerful active 18-inch DSP bass reflex subwoofer that produces 1100 Watts of RMS power through its 18-inch woofer. With a high SPL and a low frequency response of 35 Hz to 120 Hz, it's perfect for giving DJs and bands plenty of low end. Thanks to the DSP processor, the SUB 8003-AS II can be adjusted to your requirements. The input sensitivity can be changed to +99 dB gain, for instance, or you can make use of the 8 built-in crossover presets. By pressing the Link/X-over button, the XLR outputs become X-over outputs.

Extra deep bass without distortion

This subwoofer has a bass reflex design which ensures that its sound is free of distortion despite its high SPL. The woofer has a special thickness too for more accurate sound reproduction. The digital amplifier is surrounded by robust aluminium that keeps it safe during transport and prevents it from becoming too warm when it's working hard as well. The subwoofer itself has a housing made of Baltic birch plywood and a steel grille. The SUB 8003-AS II measures 69.4 x 52.3 x 70 cm and weighs 43.5 kg.

RCF SUB 8003-AS II 18" Active Bass Reflex Sub with DSP (2,200W)
Wrote the following about RCF SUB 8003-AS II 18" Active Bass Reflex Sub with DSP (2,200W)
SUB 8003-AS II van RCF.

Pluspunten:
+ Zeer diepe bas (ideaal voor bijv. House en. Hiphop)
+ Hoge geluidsdruk 135 dB max SPL (volgens website RCF)
+ Veel dsp opties (Gain, EQ, phase, x-over, delay, cardioid)
+ Goede prijs kwaliteit
+ Powercon aansluitingen

Heavy, yet Portable: the JBL EON618S

Thursday 15 October 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

A subwoofer with an 18-inch speaker and a 1000-watt amplifier for 134 dB of bass; that must be heavy, right? You might be surprised to know that it weighs just 35.5 kg! Yes, that's right, you no longer have to worry about giving yourself a back injury every time you need to transport a serious subwoofer. The JBL EON618S is this subwoofer's name and making noise is its game!

More Bass with QSC K Cardioid Subwoofer and E Series

Thursday 12 January 2017 By Lizanne

With a regular subwoofer, you can often lose low tones. QSC has found the solution to that problem and named it the K Cardioid. They plan to officially launch this active sub at the 2017 NAMM show next week. It has a cardioid directional pattern at its core which effectively prevents low frequencies from escaping via the rear or sides of the cabinet, resulting in more bass and a higher sound pressure level!
