RCF has many high-quality speakers among its assortment of products and this SUB 708-AS II is one of their top-quality subwoofers. It's equipped with an 18-inch woofer and has a built-in 1400-watt amplifier. For optimal sound the entire speaker housing is made of wood to ensure that the SUB 708-AS II produces the typical RCF sound with plenty of powerful low punchy bass. It's perfect for use with any of the speakers from RCF's ART series.
RCF SUB 708-AS II: internal electronics
The SUB 708-AS II is equipped with a powerful class D amplifier that was chosen for its great sound-producing capabilities and its light weight. When you combine the subwoofer with another speaker you can use the built-in crossover functionality to send selected higher frequencies to your preferred source. It's even possible to reverse the polarity by 180 degrees to prevent any phase problems.
Subwoofers
The subwoofer is designed to generate enormous amounts of power in order to reproduce audible tones in the lower frequency range. The human ear has trouble registering frequencies under 100 Hz, which is the range in which subwoofers are especially active! Still, a tight bass sound is the basis of a good mix. That's why there are special subwoofers that are responsible for the ultra-low tones, like speakers with a considerable power capacity and a large cabinet. RCF has developed the SUB 7XX series of subwoofers to meet these requirements. Thanks to their integrated crossover, they're easy to combine with satellite speakers.

They plan to officially launch this active sub at the 2017 NAMM show next week.
