General

The Samson RSX112A is a 12-inch speaker that's equipped with R.A.M.P (Reactive Alignment, Maximum Protection) DSP technology to ensure it always has the best possible audio settings. In the rear, you can choose between three different EQ settings: flat, boost and vocal. The first speaks for itself, the second gives both high and low an extra push, and the third is engineered to enhance speech and vocals. With two XLR/TRS combo inputs at your disposal, you can connect two mics, and use channel 1 to switch between line and mic input.

Wide dispersion audio

Samson's RSX112A is suitable for a wide range of applications. Not only can you plug in a microphone directly, but it can also be used in a PA system with a mixer thanks to its mix-out connection. It can also be used as a floor monitor. In any case, you've got a frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz with high tones delivered by a Celestion PETP compression driver. It's up to you, whether you place it on a distance rod, a speaker stand or mount it on a wall with the M10 rigging point.

Voor deze prijsklasse een top-speaker !
Een kleine review en mijn bevindingen:

Ik heb deze Samson 12" vergeleken met mijn andere 12" speakers, zijnde HK Linear 5 112FA, QSC K12.2 en EV ZLX-12P.
Een heel verrassende uitslag na het beluisteren ( met diverse muziekstijlen ) en door velen wellicht met de nodige vraagtekens bij mijn uitslag. Maar... dus door mij en eveneens door andere mensen die ik gevraagd heb om te luisteren naar de 4 naast elkaar opgestelde speakers:

1: HK
2: Samson
3: QSC
4: EV

Ik vermoed dat de houten behuizing daar voor iets tussenzit: de Samson geeft in de 'Boost' stand tov de ' Flat' stand niet méér output, maar een heel warme klank met een beter laag dan zelfs de QSC. Ik kon mijn oren niet geloven en had dit helemaal niet verwacht ! De EV wordt al helemaal 'weggeblazen'.
( De QSC stond in de Dance modus en de EV in de 'Club' modus )
Qua output is de Samson vergelijkbaar met de EV. De limit gaat bij ongeveer dezelfde output protesteren. De K12.2 gaat daar verder ( met de nodige verhoogde input: de QSC vraagt meer input dan de andere 3 om tot een hogere spl te komen ) en de HK doet daar nog een stapje bovenop en is een duidelijke winnaar.

Al bij al een heel goede stand-alone speaker met een mooie bas respons en bij normaal gebruik ( geen extreme SPL's ) prijs/kwaliteit dé betere op de markt. Qua betrouwbaarheid kan nog ik niet veel zeggen. Dat zal de toekomst moeten uitwijzen.
Qua bouwkwaliteit en looks meer dan ok.
Voor mij de ideale speaker voor gebruik bij kleine evenementen om de ruimte te voorzien van een warme klank met voldoende hoog en in de stand 'Flat' perfect met gebruik van een goede Sub.
Ik heb deze getest met een Yamaha DSR-118W.
