General

This white ZXA1-90W by Electro-Voice is the active version of the brand's immensely popular ZX1 speaker. For many musicians, this speaker is a favourite due to its compact size, light weight and mature sound. It's perfect for vocals and is easy to expand on with a subwoofer like the ZXA1 SUB. Judging by its weight, you'd never guess that the ZXA1 is equipped with an 800 Watt amplifier, but this is just what gives it so much versatility.

High sound quality

The built-in amplifier in the ZXA1 is designed after EV's Tour Grade series amps, which have been used as fixed installations in stadiums and theatres and at large-scale events around the world because of their high audio quality and reliability. The ZXA1 is capable of producing a solid sound and despite the 8-inch woofer, it can deliver the acoustic performance of a 12-inch speaker and in some cases even a 15-inch model.

Applications

Due to its compact construction and weighing just under nine kilograms, the ZXA1 speaker is ideal for mobile use by presenters and singer-songwriters, or as a monitor for DJs or keyboardists. It's also great for use in a fixed installation, and is especially reliable thanks to its integrated security system. The speaker is also equipped with rigging points for easy mounting and the entire system can easily be expanded on with a subwoofer.

Niet de goedkoopste kastjes maar wel een goede klank, bruikbaarheid, gebruiksgemak én restwaarde. Daarbij klinken ze echt volwassen en is het bijzonder om te horen wat er uit komt gezien de afmetingen van de kastjes (misschien is dat nog 1 van de nadelen; als je ze als 'hoofdset' neerzet, is het echt compact en vragen mensen zich af of daar 'wel genoeg geluid uit komt').

Ieder licht-en geluidsbedrijf of drive-in show kan deze mooie kastjes naar mijn idee goed gebruiken; even snel een spreeksetje neerzetten voor een toespraak bij opening, aan een klant meegeven in de verhuur (achterin de kofferbak), snel (huiskamer)feestje in combinatie met de subs opbouwen of als DJ-monitor in te zetten. In een bijruimte voor achtergrondmuziek, etc.

Met de gepowerde ZXA-1 sub, durf ik wel feestjes tot 75 man te draaien. Snel opbouwen en ook alleen. Recent weer kastjes bijgekocht. Normaal gaat alles hier in een flightcase, maar gezien de hanteerbaarheid heb ik er toch voor gekozen nu alles te voorzien van stevige hoezen; toch goed beschermd en goed hanteerbaar. Aanrader!
