General
The Electro Voice ELX 112P 12-inch 2-way active speaker is part of the brand's is part of the Live-X series that EV developed to offer an affordable option for use on stage. It's made of 15mm-thick plywood to keep it lightweight while maintaining a natural acoustic response. As a result, the ELX 112P produces clear, warm, powerful audio. The cabinet also boasts a metal grille and metal handles. On the front, there's an illuminated EV logo (the light can be switched off). The entire Live-X series is designed with musicians in mind.
Power
This speaker is equipped with a 1000-watt digital amplifier that will rock your audience to its core! On the rear, there's a clip LED, but it's not likely to turn on very often due to this speaker's impressive frequency range. Even though it has a 12-inch woofer, it can generate an enormous amount of low and works great as a main speaker for DJs, small bands and solo entertainers. For an even bigger sound, add the ELX 118P active subwoofer for optimal results and an even deeper bass range!
Construction and connection options
The ELX 112P cabinet has a slanted edge that makes it suitable for use as a floor monitor on stage. As a main speaker, you can set it on a stand or a stance rod. There are a variety of connection options on the rear, including the possibility to connect an MP3 player and a microphone for an intimate solo performance. With to separate volume controls at your disposal, you can make your own mix between the two inputs, so an external mixer won't be necessary. When combined with more speakers from the Live-X series, you can easily make stereo and mono setups.

Solide gebouwd en een fantastisch geluid. Helder hoog en een mooie strakke bas en het kan knetter hard zonder dat het vervormd.
Een subjectieve staat m wel beter
Enige nadeel is dat hij maar aan 1 kant een handvat heeft...
Qua geluid heeft de speaker (EQ-schakelaar op 'flat', niet 'scooped') een geweldig bereik, de bas is goed strak. De mids komen goed tot hun recht (belangrijk voor mij als gitarist). Alleen in het hoog miste ik soms iets detail naar mijn smaak.
Dankzij een verscheidenheid aan functies is de speaker zeer flexibel. Ik gebruik meestal beide ingangen (één van de monitortafel en één rechtstreeks van de voorversterker).
De speaker maakt een zeer stabiele indruk en heeft me de afgelopen 1,5 jaar nooit in de steek gelaten. Alles werkt nog perfect.
Het zou mooi zijn als er aan beide kanten handvatten zouden zijn, maar dat is helaas niet het geval. Met één handvat is de speaker nog steeds wel goed te hanteren.
Over het algemeen ben ik zeer tevreden en zou ik deze speaker zo opnieuw kopen.

een echte aanrader voor iedereen die een deftige luidspreker zoekt voor een deftige prijs. ik gebruik deze in mijn PA systeem voor de band en dit met mooi resultaat. makkelijk en lichtige luidsprekers een dikke 10 voor het totaalpakketje
Wat een super product!
Zelf heb ik 2 x de elx 118p subs en 2x de elx 115p tops,
Klinken gewoonweg vetjes ! strakke bass en enorm zuiver.
laat een zeer professionele klank en look na, vele complimenten gekregen, dit is wat iedereen moet hebben om een goede beginnende band te kunnen starten
het totaalpakketje
Het geluid van deze speaker is zuiver en prima inzetbaar als achtergrond muziek, toespraken of kleinere feesten. Op grotere feesten en/of evenementen plaatsen wij er altijd een subwoofer (per kant) bij omdat je simpelweg laag tekort komt.
Door de schuine zijde van deze speaker is de ELX112P ook inzetbaar voor monitorgebruik! Aan deze schuine zijde zitten geen rubberen voetjes en beschadigd deze zijde sneller bij monitor gebruik. Dit is uiteraard zelf op te lossen. Daarnaast is er aan deze schuine zijde geen handvat, dit maakt het vervoeren ietswat lastiger en onhandig!
De achterzijde van de speaker, waar de versterkermodule zit heb je de mogelijkheid om Tulp en XLR aan te sluiten.
Al met al is deze EV ELX112P multi inzetbaar en is de prijs / kwaliteitsverhouding in orde!
Tip: Koop er een beschermhoes bij om langer plezier te hebben van je speaker!
Discos in alle variaties denkbaar, zelfs studenten feestjes, maar ook voor vergaderingen sinterklaas intochten, fairs, buitengebeuren in het algemeen. Heb deze gekocht om een aantal redenen. Gewicht was belangrijk, maar vooral het vriendelijk hoog, beslist niet schreeuwerig. Voor kleine feestjes (60 man) is een sub helemaal niet nodig, maar heb je zelf geen sub en doe je alleen discowerk zou ik wel de 15 nemen, die gaan echt nog wat lager , 12 gaan zelf redelijk laag, zonder vervorming. Zaal akoestiek speelt daarbij ook een rol, enkele keren buiten disco, gaan ze op 4 keer Sub met 2 keer 2 KW, dan wordt het laag van deze EV topkasten beperkt tot 100HZ d.m.v. schakelaar achterop. Dan door een hyper worden de DJ zie ze ook wel eens clippen, maar worden daar niet anders van, 300 man gaat prima met zon set, ze gaan echt hard, maar blijven strak klinken. Nadeel van klasse D versterker met volle gain, is nogal hoge ruis signaal. Een greep bovenop zou ook handig geweest zijn, en de eurostekker is eigenlijk ook niet meer van deze tijd, maar ik zit zolang in dit vak, 100% is het nooit.
Voor dit geld heb je een fantastische actieve speaker, in gebruik, voor vele doeleinden te gebruiken.
