General
Midas have come up with another crowd-pleaser with their modular 500 microphone preamp series. The Midas 502 is an ideal addition to your mobile recording system, as the brand are known for their sublime preamps. You'll also find XL4 filters on the 502 that have been borrowed from the brand's Live Performing Mixing consoles. These low and high-pass filters were responsible the great success of the XL4 mixers. Both input and output meters on this device are extremely accurate and there's an LED ring made from 11 segments for reading the post amplifier/pre filter signal with great precision. You can adjust the input and output signal from -20 to +20 dBu in steps of 4 dB.
Backlit status controls
To give the user a clear overview, all the controls on the Midas 502 have a status LED. You'll be able to see the reference you need at a single glance during recording. This also goes for the low and high-pass filters (IN), phase invert, phantom power (+48V) and the output transformer switch (TX). The 502 receives phantom power from a separate rack chassis that houses the 502 and is not included.
Tips or comments about this product- Please note: in order to use the 502 preamp, you will need to purchase a lunchbox/chassis. This supplies the preamp with power and has inputs to record your vocals and/or instruments.
