General

As soon as you see a little "i" in a product name, you know it's going to be linked with Apple. It's no different with the Yamaha i-UX1 USB MIDI-interface. This incredibly compact module connects instruments with a USB MIDI OUT to iPhones, iPads, or iPod Touch models. Applications for iOS that are Core Audio compatible can be controlled and played from a connected instrument with the help of this interface.

Yamaha i-UX1: connector with potential

This small interface by Yamaha connects to an instrument via a 1.5 metre-long cable with a USB B (to host) connector. From synthesizer to electronic drum set and from hybrid horn instrument to keyboard, all MIDI-sending instruments with USB ports can be connected to your Apple device via the 30-pin dock connector. Yamaha has many different apps available that can work as study aids during lessons and at home. Indeed, there are countless third-party apps available so you can get the most out of virtual synths and effects with the use of the i-UX1 together with a good keyboard.

Tips or comments about this product
