BNC connectors (also check out our complete BNC cables) are used for coaxial cables or can serve as a chassis connector. BNC cables are often used in recording studios for the synchronisation of digital recording equipment. They can also connect wireless transmitters and receivers and transmit analogue and digital video signals. As the full name Bayonet Neill-Concelman suggests, these plugs are equipped with a bayonet locking mechanism which prevents the cable from coming undone. The 75-Ohm version works at frequencies of up to 2 GHz, whereas the 50-Ohm version works at frequencies of up to 4 GHz.
