Goede keus als je deze headphone wilt gaan gebruiken tijdens opnamens of mixen of om gewoon muziek te luisteren
Ik gebruik ze zelf gewoon om mee te luisteren en niet voor mixen e.d. en daar zijn ze ook voor geschikt. Het laag is vol met detail en deze hoofdtelefoon kan er veel laag uitgooien, zonder dat het dreunerig/bassy of vervelend wordt. Het midden is net als het laag erg goed, vol detail en helder. Het hoog was voor mij even wennen. Er zit volgens mij een lichte treble spike in dit model. In eerste instantie stootte mij dit af, ik moest er aan wennen. Nu heb ik persoonlijk vrij snel last van hoge tonen die mij irriteren. Ook kan je hier met EQ wel goed veranderingen in aanbrengen.
De soundstage is ook goed te noemen, zeker voor closed headphones. Op hogere volumes wordt het wel wat rommelig, dat moet gezegd worden. Op zich is dit geen grote ramp naar mijn idee. Bouwkwaliteit e.d. lijkt mij gewoon prima verzorgd.
Ik bezit op dit moment zelf: Shure SE215 in ears en de Audio Technica ES7 naast deze SR950. In het verleden heb ik bijv. de AKG K702's gehad en de Audio Technica M50 om enigszins aan te geven waarmee ik kan vergelijken. Mijn source is momenteel een Onkyo A8500 waarvan ik de headphone out gebruik, deze wordt aangestuurd door een M-Audio 2496 geluidskaart in mijn pc. Daarnaast kan ik de Samson sr950 ook zonder probleem gebruiken op mijn iPod 5.5 met Rockbox.
